What she loves most is working together with her fellow REALTORS® to improve the real estate profession and mentoring others along the way.

Jen welcome! Woah... its been a year... Share with us how you’re doing and let’s look back and reflect on the past year.

Reflecting on this past year:

I have been asked if I was sad that my first year as Treasurer was during a pandemic. Honestly, that thought never crossed my mind because when the pandemic set in, it was go time even with the world at a stand still. Those early days are a blur filled with long hours and zoom calls crafting an action plan. Shifting what we thought was the direction we were going and heading into a big unknown. TO be honest, there were days of high anxiety and uncertainty. Trying to process what this meant personally, in our businesses and for our 205k members! I mean there was no pressure! Seriously, my motto last year whenever I had doubts and felt like curling up, I would say, Don’t waste a crisis.

I feel fortunate to have been in this position during this time. Leading is not all about the good times.

Tell us about the journey to your current leadership role? Were you recruited or did you ask for it?

I have to start with the fact that I never set out to be a leader per se. I would step forward when I felt strongly about something. Clearly, I have felt strongly about a lot of things over the years! I can’t say that anyone recruited me but having champions around you to encourage and remind you of things you are good at.

What is your most treasured advice from a mentor?

Don’t let other’s truth be your truth.
